Our Story
At Bougie Galiano, we love to make candles! Bougie (boo͞′zhē, -jē) is the French word for candle. We are inspired by herbs, forest, and flower essences from around the world, but have a particular soft spot for butterfly lavender, which is cultivated in France. Our candles are created by hand in small batches on Galiano Island.
When we started crafting candles in early 2022, we realized we wanted to create scents that offered people comfort, relaxation, or to transport them to another place or time. We use pure 100% soy wax when we hand-pour our candles, and our scents are pure nature derived essential oils or custom-blended fragrances that are phthalate free. Whether you’re enjoying one of our Forager candles to bring you back to the forest, or Spa Day to ease your stress, each candle is lovingly made to improve your day!
